Our traditional fall mushroom banquet has risen from its Covid-induced stupor, and will be held on Sunday, November 5th at EVOO in Cambridge. Starting in 2011, this elegant banquet became an annual event, marking the end of our foraging season, and we’re happy to restart it. It will start with a social hour and passed hors d’oeuvres, followed by a sit down three course meal with wine (menu by Peter McCarthy, EVOO’s mycophilic chef/owner). Seats are limited so be prepared to click on PayPal when you receive the invitation. We guarantee that it’s well worth its $85 price.
Additionally, we hope that some of you will organize mushroom-themed meals in other restaurants and other communities. We’re a wide-spread, big tent group and can support multiple culinary events. We’re already working on our winter Chinatown Foray & Banquet, and we’re looking forward to the fall potluck at Trish Adams’ house after our October 22nd walk, but surely someone would like to organize a huitlacoche meal? Or other meals with fungal themes?
